- head of the plasma diagnostics research laboratory and BEST diagnostics. Concurrent adjunct professorships at USTC, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Lanzhou University, and a distinguished professorship at ShanghaiTech University.
Education and experience
- Born in 1977, with more than 20 years of plasma physics, fusion energy and terahertz technology R&D experience.
- Received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Henan University in July 1999
- A master’s degree in nuclear technology and applications from the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 2006
- A PhD in advanced energy engineering science from Kyushu University, Japan, in September 2011.
- Has held various R&D positions at the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, CAS, since September 2011.
Research
- Far-infrared laser polarimeter-interferometer diagnostics for plasmas
- tokamak core confinement and transport physics, including internal transport barriers (ITBs), current transport, core particle transport, electron-density behavior, density limits, operating regimes and turbulence.
Academic contributions and recognition
More than 200 SCI papers, including over 30 Q1 journal papers. Chair of the Diagnostics Topical Group of the International Tokamak Physics Activity and member of the Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Laser-Aided Plasma Diagnostics. Recipient of the CAS Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize (team award) and the Anhui Youth Science and Technology Award.
